    The Role
    To identify, develop and obtain new annual revenue for all M3 services and create layers of network and referral partners. The Business Development Executive will serve as M3’s initial contact for both internal and external purposes and utilize industry knowledge to be a resource for clients and prospects regarding risk management issues.

    Responsibilities

    New Business Revenue

    • Identifies and develops insurance prospects; networks with Centers of Influence.
    • Develops, follows and completes a marketing plan.
    • Responds to referrals quickly and effectively.
    • Creates and maintains prospect lists.
    • Originate and close new clients to meet revenue goals.
    • Identify and actively pursue prospective client meetings.
    • Work with Sales team on next steps for each prospect visit to include closing the file, working on the account over the long-term or getting an AE involved immediately.
    • Actively pursue and work key target prospects.
    • Work with Sales Leadership to identify AE for specific leads.
    • Work with AE to guide the process of moving the prospect through the sales cycle and ultimately winning the business.

    Retention Support

    • Entertain clients and build long lasting relationships with book of business.
    • Attend various meetings including pre-planning meetings, renewal meetings, annual risk management sessions, etc.
    • Get to know key decision makers and work to cross sell account.

    Personal Development

    • Stay current with new risk management ideas and strategies.
    • Understand carrier products and sales goals.
    • Lead on multiple sessions during M3 Professional Development days.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of five years related insurance/sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • Working knowledge of insurance and sales industry terminology.
    • Detailed knowledge of key carrier target markets and associated niches.
    • Previous relevant professional experience is desired.
